The New Adrizomai

Andrizomai is greek for "act like men".

This means something to the men of Fountain of Life Fellowship, and we know that we need one another to be the kind of men God wants us to be (Proverbs 27.17)

That's why we meet together.

Our goal for this next year is grow in our relationships with one another and our knowledge of Jesus Christ. This will happen in 3 ways:

1) Breakfast

2) Bible

3) Events

Eight months of the year we'll heading to Carrow's (2nd Saturday morning of the month, 7 am) to enjoy one another's company as we have breakfast together. During breakfast, part of our discussion will be led by Pastor Matt in study of the Gospel of Mark. In this way we'll fellowship together as we consider Mark's account of the Son of God.

The remaining four months will see us enjoying fun events together. We're still planning some of these details, but ideas include:
- a movie night
- a poker night
- mini golf
- a retreat (Fri-Sat)

We're excited about what God has for us as serve Him together.

And we hope to see you (and a friend!) at Carrows, Saturday morning, January 9th, at 7 a.m. We'll study Mark 1.1-8.

The Mandate and the Invitation

Fellas,

In 2 Timothy 2.2 Paul gives Timothy this mandate:
what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
One of a pastor's main responsibilities is to raise up new leaders for the church.  You guys are on my list.

Each of you is on the list for different reasons.  But you all have a few things in common: a passion for Jesus, a passion for His church, and leadership abilities.

Here's my invitation.

I'm asking for...

1. a year's commitment, with
2. twelve 1 1/2 hr meetings where we filter through
3. three main focuses:
a. theology
 b. church, and
c. character

We'll spend our time in 3 main books, listed below.

The meetings will tag on to the end of our elder meetings.  So they would be the Saturday morning before the first Tuesday of every month.  It would be less than 5 pages of reading per every business day.

I know it's a stiff commitment...but leadership in the church is stiff business.  And it's worth it!

Lemme know...

Three Books For The Year

Theology: so you know how to handle the Bible.

The Unity of the Bible, Daniel Fuller

The Church: so you know what you're leading.

Your Character: so you're able to lead.
